On All-to-all Broadcasting for Distributed Systems

چکیده

All-to-all broadcasting refers to the process by which every node broadcasts its certain piece of information to all other nodes. In this paper, we study all-to-all broadcasting for distributed systems by considering two classes schemes: one is based on generation of minimal complete sets and the other is based on propagation of experts. The former always completes the broadcasting in the minimal number of steps and the latter is proved to incur the minimal number of messages. The optimal all-to-all broadcasting scheme can be derived by combining the advantages of these two classes of schemes.
